THE keenly awaited Jack Nicklaus International Invitational (JNII) golf tournament is set to unfold on April 29 at Sta Elena Golf Club in Laguna.
Hosted by Jack Nicklaus Philippines, the event gives recreational golfers the opportunity to compete in tournament-like conditions in a tough course while vying for a chance to represent the country in the 2019 Tournament of Champions happening at New Albany Country Club in Columbus, Ohio on May 29.
The best two-man team will have a tough act to follow: Philippine entries have won the last two stagings of the event, with Hubert Lim and Tootsie de Jesus' victory last year coming on the heels of actors John Estrada and Derek Ramsay's success in 2017.
Named after the eponymous golfer, course designer, and philanthropist, the Jack Nicklaus brand will also gift the winners a chance to watch the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide and hosted annually by the 18-time Major winner at nearly Muirfield Village Golf Club.
The Jack Nicklaus International Invitational is now open for registration, with a minimum of P7,000 purchase at Jack Nicklaus counters in Rustan’s, Red Tag Nuvali, Landmark Trinoma and Alabang, SM Stores in Makati and Aura, Kiss & Fly and Chimes Davao.
