Zenless Zone Zero is the developer's newest project that puts heavy emphasis on action. So imagine playing a hack-and-slash game like Devil May Cry or God of War and introducing gacha elements.
The game is now available to play on PlayStation 5, Android, iOS, and Microsoft Windows. It's free-to-play so you wouldn't need to worry about spending money to download the game.
Around 50 GB will be needed for one to fully immerse themselves into the Zenless Zone universe, so be sure to save up some space in your hardrive.
Story and setting
Zenless Zone takes place in a post-apocalyptic universe where humanity is threatened by beings known as Ethereals. In order to combat these beings, humanity created a safe haven known as New Eridu, where they extract the Ethereal's resources to combat the threat.
The player will assume the role of the Proxy, who aids the other characters in the game to combat the Ethereals located in multiple dimensions.
Gameplay
Similar to HoYoVerse's Genshin Impact, Zenless Zone has the same combat mechanics where players can dodge attacks, spam abilities, which includes their signature and special abilities (pressing the E and Q buttons on your keyboard).
In addition, characters can synergize their abilities to produce hard hitting combos and Zenless simplified the process by allowing automatic character shift attacks.
Like in the other HoYo titles, players can customize and strengthen their characters by spending their resources to level up their characters, weapons, and accessories.
Each character will have unique traits, ranging from their role (support, damage dealer), their elements (ice, fire, etc.), so be sure to field a lineup that is tailored to compliment the pieces.
As mentioned earlier, Zenless is more focused on action oriented gameplay, which sets it apart from Genshin's open world experience or Star Rail's turn-based approach. During downtime moments, players are tasked to look for missions and field characters suited to complete the task.
Then when it comes to gacha mechanics, the game stays loyal to its HoYoVerse counterparts.
