UNIVERSITY of Sto. Tomas added to University of the Philippines' woes in the UAAP Women's football tournament, hacking out a 1-0 win on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Hazel Lustan scored the winner in the 85th minute to stun the defending champion Lady Maroons, who failed to win a single game in the first round of the tournament.
The Tigresses actually had a chance to go ahead earlier as but but Charisa Lemoran's penalty shot in the 72nd minute went far wide.
Thankfully for them, Lustan was there to the rescue as she calmly hit the winning goal 13 minutes later.
The win allowed the Tigresses to move to six points with just a game left in their first round schedule.
