UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas displayed tenacity and a sense of urgency on both ends of the field in crushing Adamson, 3-0, in the UAAP Season 79 men's football tournament on Thursday at the Moro Lorenzo field in Quezon City.
Goals from Dexter Benecio, Jayson Rafol and Marvin Bricencio towed the Golden Booters past the Falcons to improve to fourth place with six points.
Coming off a win against La Salle last Sunday, Adamson headed into the match with tons of confidence but that was quickly vanquished after Bricencio's 32nd minute goal.
Smelling blood, the Golden Booters continued to pounce in the second half, getting another goal after Rafol connected with Darryl Regala off a set piece for a header.
Bricencio then put the final nail in Adamson's coffin after he took advantage of the confusion on the Falcons' backline to score in the scramble in the 79th minute.
The loss kept Adamson in sixth place with just three points in four games.
