UNITED CITY FC drew with Madenat Al Amal FC, 2-2, in a friendly match in Dubai, and Kaya FC-Iloilo hired Graham Harvey as head coach as both clubs continued their gear-up for the AFC Champions League.
UCFC played to a draw in its first friendly in Dubai where it is holding a training camp in preparation for the group stage of the AFC Champions League in Uzbekistan from June 25 to July 11.
Kaya FC, meanwhile, announced the hiring of a new coach in Harvey as he takes charge of the club’s bid to make it to the AFC Champions League.
Harvey had stints as head coach with the Eastern Long Lions FC in Hong Kong and Western Pride FC in Australia, where he is also a coach developer for Football Queensland
The Englishman is currently an assistant coach of the China women’s under-16 national team.
United City will play Kawasaki Frontale, Beijing Guoan, and Daegu FC in the double round-robin group stage.
Kaya FC also eyes a spot in the Champions League when it plays Shanghai Port on June 23 in a playoff match.
