GLOBAL FC felt like a loser after its 4-0 win over JP Voltes in the United Football League on Thursday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium as some players and staff lost their phones to thieves.

Team owner Dan Palami said 11 phones were stolen, while team and Azkals physiotherapist Wally Javier lost a sling bag that contained his passport and cash.

Global, which supplanted Voltes on the top of the standings, was alerted of the unfortunate development through Misagh Bahadoran as the strike star, a few minutes after subbing out in the 85th minute, went to the locker along with Omid Nazari to shower only to find out their phones were stolen.

The Voltes dugout, which had a staff guarding it, was spared.

A police blotter has since been filed.

Palami said he noticed some workers, who were working on a construction site near the locker room, were still there at the half, but were nowhere to be found after the game.

“Tiningnan ko yung logbook ng RMS, dun sa mga workers, usually naglo-log out sila eh and today was the only day hindi sila nag-log out,” Palami told Spin.ph over the phone. “So I’m quite concerned with that.”

“I don’t want to say it’s them, pero very unusual lang walang nag-log out today,” he added. “So we’ll know if they report tomorrow.”
