A NEW-LOOK Adamson Falcons squad will have eight first-year players in their roster and no clear go-to guy following the departure of pro-bound Jericho Cruz.
Don Trollano, Jansen Rios, and Ryan Monteclaro will now be tasked to pick up the cudgels for Adamson in their final year of eligibility after Cruz, the team’s leading scorer last season, decided not to play for the Falcons this year to apply for the PBA rookie draft.
Matthew Aquino, son of former Ginebra cager and current Adamson assistant coach Marlou Aquino, leads five rookies out of high school. He will be joined by Alexis Barrera from La Salle Greenhills, John Ryan Gumtang from San Beda, Ivan Villanueva from Letran, and Cristian Garcia from Sta. Clara International Academy.
John Baytan, Harold James Butron from Canada, and William Polican were also included in the Falcons’ lineup for the first time by rookie coach Kenneth Duremdes.
Dawn Ochea, a member of the national team to the Fiba-Asia Under-18 Championship, will be entering his second playing year with Adamson along with Accel Inigo, Jessiery Pedrosa, and Francis Donahue.
After a stint with Team B, Joseph Nalos will finally suit up for the Falcons after transferring from Southwestern University in Cebu.
