FIVE rookies led by Thirdy Ravena and Arvin Tolentino have made the 16-man roster of the Ateneo Blue Eagles in UAAP Season 77.
According to the official league roster obtained by Spin.ph, Ravena and Tolentino will be joined in the Blue Eagles roster by the duo of John Apacile and Clint Doliguez from Hope Christian School and Jav Javelosa from Reedley International School.
The younger Ravena, the MVP of Season 76 juniors competition while playing for the Blue Eaglets, will officially team up with his brother Kiefer Ravena, who will be playing his fourth year with Ateneo.
Aside from Kiefer, other holdovers in the squad who will try to pick up the slack left by Ryan Buenafe and JP Erram, are Chris Newsome, Von Pessumal, Nico Elorde, and Gwyne Capacio. Gideon Babilonia and Kris Porter return to the team after suffering season-ending injuries last year.
Also making it to the 16-man lineup of coach Bo Perasol are Antonio Asistio, Isaac Lim, and Manuel Tolentino.
Alfonso Gotladera, a transferee from De La Salle, will finally suit up for Ateneo after taking up residency.
Noticeably absent from the roster are former Ateneo coach Norman Black’s son Aaron and Jerie Pingoy and Hubert Cani, who are still ineligible to play for the Blue Eagles this season.
