THEY were spotted together in a sport event for the first time on Monday afternoon, but Ateneo star Kiefer Ravena denied he and Mika Reyes are a couple.
The celebrated athletes from rival schools watched the NCAA men’s basketball game between San Beda and Emilio Aguinaldo College on Monday as Ravena showed his support for good friend and Red Lions star Baser Amer.
Spin.ph caught up with the Ateneo star after the game at the San Juan Arena and was asked what the real score is between him and the La Salle volleyball star.
“We’re just good friends. Yun lang,” he said before letting out a laugh.
Asked why Reyes was with him, Ravena said it was merely coincidence.
“Napadaan lang siya. Nagkataon,” the affable Blue Eagle said.
On Sunday, Ravena was a lot more open about his relationship with the statuesque Lady Spiker, who was at ringside to watch Ateneo's game against La Salle at the Big Dome.
“Sana naman ako ang chineer niya," he told Spin.ph later.
Ravena congratulated Amer after the game. And asked for his take of their status, Amer was tight-lipped.
"Hmmmmmm," said Amer, "'di ko pa alam kung sila na."
Switching topics, Ravena just reaffirmed his support of Amer, who has also been regularly watching Ravena’s game with the Blue Eagles in the UAAP.
“Nag-sa-salitan kami ng games na pinapanood eh. Nanonood siya ng games ko. Nanonood ako ng games niya, so support lang bilang kaibigan,” Raven said.
With the way the Red Lions are playing, Ravena is confident that a fifth straight crown in the country’s oldest collegiate league is in the horizon for Amer and Co.
“Makikita naman kung gaano ka-angat yung Beda, so I guess it’s just a matter of time. They’re really playing consistent, just like us.”
