NU whips Adamson to stretch streak to three

    Aug 18, 2013

NATIONAL University stretched its win run to three, trouncing Adamson, 80-48, on Sunday in the UAAP men’s basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Bulldogs put up a 21-7 lead in the first period and never looked back. Head coach Eric Altamirano credited the defense, as the Bulldogs limited the Falcons to only eight points in the fourth

“It sounds like a cliché but I think we were able to do it on defense,” said Altamirano. “It all boiled down to the stops.”

The Bulldogs also had more transition points, 23-9, and shot 52 percent from the field as they improved to 6-3 in second spot.

“Kasabay na offense and defense,” said Altamirano.

Emmanuel Mbe had 21 points, 10 rebounds, and four steals, while Bobby Ray Parks added 16 markers for NU.
