La Salle mum on Sauler future, but source says coach has bid Green Archers players goodbye

    Nov 24, 2015

LA Salle officials remained tight-lipped about the future of Juno Sauler, but sources told Spin.ph revealed the Green Archers coach has already bid his players goodbye shortly after the team's failure to reach the UAAP Final Four.

According to a source, a team meeting was held after the Far Eastern University put a shock end to the Green Archers' season, 71-68, on Wednesday. There Sauler formally told his players and staff that he is resigning as the head coach of the Green Archers.

Spin.ph reported on Monday that Sauler has tendered his resignation, but La Salle has yet to give an official statement about the coaching situation.

Sauler, at the moment, is also unavailable for comment.

News of Sauler's resignation emerged after the Green Archers failed to reach the Final Four for the first time since 2011. The third-year coach led La Salle to a championship in his rookie year in 2013 - the school's first since 2007.

Sources told Spin.ph Sauler could possibly be heading back to Barangay Ginebra in the PBA where he was a longtime assistant coach - a position he concurrently held even during his tenure at La Salle.
