JERON TENG is looking forward to playing alongside Kib Montalbo, the newest addition to the De La Salle Green Archers lineup.
“Excited ako to play with Kib Montalbo,” Teng said.
Montalbo, a high school star from Bacolod City, recently committed to play for the Green Archers in the coming UAAP season - a development seen as a boost to the Taft-based school's bid to regain its place among the league elite.
The Green Archers are among the most successful teams in the country's premier college league but have never won a UAAP title since 2007.
Teng himself welcomed the star guard to the Archers' fold when the team’s patron Eduardo ‘Danding’ Cojuangco hosted a small gathering in his home for the highly touted Bacolodnon.
Teng was in a similar situation last year when the former high school phenom from Xavier chose La Salle over other schools in college.
In his first year with the team, Teng not only captured the Rookie of the Year honors but also a spot in the Mythical Five after an impressive debut with the Green Archers.
Teng believes that Montalbo, a guard from St. John Institute, can quickly make a difference with the team.
“He is a very talented point guard and I think he can really help our team,” Teng said.
