LOOKS like Jeric Teng is the lucky charm of the University of Santo Tomas.
Teng sat behind the UST bench on Sunday to watch his former team hack out a thrilling 69-67 win over Far Eastern University's Tamaraws in the UAAP basketball tournament on Sunday.
The former Tigers captain wasn't there when UST lost to National University in the opening game but quickly dismissed the notion that he is the ‘lucky charm’ of a team he led to two straight UAAP finals appearances.
“Hindi naman,” said Teng, smiling.
Still, the Rain on Shine forward said he will always be there to support his alma mater, adding he believes the Tigers have what it takes to return to the UAAP finals once again.
“Sila-sila na ‘yun. Ako lang naman, I’m here to support. May bago ng team captain kaya wala na ako,” said Teng. “They are more experienced right now. They still have a chance."
And his bet for the finals?
“Sana La Salle-UST uli,” said Teng.
