FEU coach Racela says Mike Tolomia's horror 0-of-15 performance 'not a concern'

    Nov 28, 2015

FAR Eastern University coach Nash Racela was quick to shake off Mike Tolomia’s struggles in Game Two after the Tamaraws' loss to University of Santo Tomas in Game two of the UAAP Season 78 Finals.

The usually reliable Tolomia fired blanks on Saturday, failing to connect on 15 of his shots from the field including six from beyond the three-point arc as the Tigers won, 56-62, to send the title series to a do-or-die third game.

Still, Racela said he still has faith in his senior guard.

“Not a concern,” said Racela, insisting he is counting on Tolomia and his fellow veterans to bounce back in Game Three on ednesday. “Again, these are veterans, so I’m sure they can come back strong next time.”

Racela said he liked the fact that Tolomia remained confident with his shot down to the very end.

“He took shots and he didn’t make it. Actually, isa lang ang ma-shoot dun, it’s a different game all together. Kailangan mo ng taong titira,” said the FEU coach.

“I think kung hindi rin naman mag-gagamble si Kevin (Ferrer), hindi rin siya puputok,” said Racela, referring to the UST star's big outing when he scored 24 of his 29 points in the third quarter alone.
