Coach Duremdes admits Adamson yet to complete its lineup for coming UAAP season

    Apr 15, 2014

ADAMSON will not participate in this year’s preseason tournaments including the Filoil Flying V Premier Cup slated this month, citing its unpreparedness to plunge into action at this point of the year.

New head coach Kenneth Duremdes bared he still doesn’t have a lineup even for the preseason tournaments and the school is still evaluating the possible roster for the UAAP Season 77 set to open in a few months.

“Hindi pa kami ready. Wala pa akong lineup. Unahin muna namin mag-buo ng team, then preparation next,” said Duremdes, who is also mulling the possibility of coming out of retirement and playing for expansion team Blackwater Sports in the coming PBA season.

Ateneo and University of Santo Tomas are also skipping the Filoil tournament set to open April 23.

The Falcons are in a period of transition after Duremdes took over the coaching chores. Former coach Leo Austria did not seek a renewal of his contract, citing several quarters in the school wanting him out after the squad wound up with a 4-10 win-loss record.

Adamson will have a new-look squad as Rodney Brondial, Roider Cabrera, Harry Petilos, Gian Abrigo, and Michael Agustin are no longer eligible.

Falcons star Jericho Cruz, meanwhile, is uncertain about his future with the squad, admitting that he is also mulling an early move to the pros.
