ANDREI Caracut scored 15 points on 3-of-5 shooting from the three-point area in another fine performance for De La Salle , lifting the Green Archers to a 90-69 win over Lyceum on Wednesday in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup.
The rookie out of San Beda had 10 points in the first half alone to set the stage for the Green Archers runaway victory, their first in the tournament after losing in their debut - an 80-86 defeat to San Beda where Caracut scored 22.
This time, Caracut’s heroics translated into a victory.
“Our guys were making the shots,” said La Salle coach Juno Sauler, referring to the team’s 12 three-pointers. “But in our defense, we still have a lot of things to work on. We gave up 18 offensive rebounds. Those are the things that we have to clean up.”
Joshua Torralba had 13 points, while rookie Jollo Go had 11 points including a 3-of-10 clip from behind the arc. Abu Tratter had 10 points and eight rebounds while Prince Rivero chipped in 10 markers.
Arnold Van Opstal sat out the game due to the sprained ankle but is expected to return to practice next week.
Lyceum fell to its third consecutive defeat.
