FANS can heave a sigh of relief as Phil Younghusband appears to be fine after suffering a head injury during the final edition of the Clear Dream Match on Saturday night at the University of Makati Stadium.
The star striker was caught in a head-on collision with Dodong Villareal in a battle for a 50-50 ball in the second half, prompting him to get stretchered off and brought to the hospital after sustaining head wounds.
But Cathy Nazareno, the Younghusbands’ manager, assured Phil was out of danger.
“He’s okay,” said Nazareno, who acted as general coordinator of the match, won by Team James, 1-0. “He was brought to the hospital just as a precautionary measure.”
“Actually, gusto na nga niya mag-party with them eh,” she added.
Nazreno posted on her Twitter accounted later: "@PhilYHusband had CTscan, cervical spine xray & was seen by a neuro. Results are normal. He's admitted for 24 hrs for routine observation."
