CARSON, Calif. — LA Galaxy captain Robbie Keane will be sidelined four to six weeks after arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.
The Galaxy announced their striker's prognosis Thursday (Friday, Manila time) after Keane posted a post-surgery photo of his leg on his Instagram account.
Keane left camp with the Irish national team earlier this week, unable to suit up for training or two friendly matches.
The 2014 MLS MVP has won three MLS Cup titles, serving as the Galaxy's captain since 2013. He has scored two goals in the Galaxy's first three games this season.
Keane has been dominant when healthy throughout his MLS career, but he missed two months early last season with a nagging groin injury.
Steven Gerrard also is expected to miss the Galaxy's next match due to a left calf injury.
