RIZAL Memorial Stadium is good to go for Monday's opening men's football matches for the 30th Southeast Asian Games.
Sources bared the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Committee (PHISGOC) will push through with the holding of the first wave of matches in the near-decade old stadium even if renovation work has yet to finish.
Binan Football Stadium was earlier floated as a possible replacement venue, at least for early men's football matches.
Work on the facade of the stadium was still ongoing at posting time, with sources speculating that teams and fans alike will be asked to enter through a back entrance.
Malaysia will raise the curtain in the Games against Myanmar at 4 p.m., while the Philippine Azkals open their campaign against Cambodia at 8 p.m.
Vietnam and Brunei will also play at 4 p.m. in the same day at Imus Grandstand and Track Oval in Cavite.
