FILIPINO football standouts Sandro Reyes and Amani Aguinaldo joined forces with their fellow ASEAN All-Stars in defeating Manchester United, 1-0, on Wednesday night in an exhibition match dubbed the Maybank Challenge Cup in Kuala Lumpur.

Myanmar striker Maung Maung Lwin scored the lone goal of the match in the 71st minute to deal the Red Devils a stunning defeat at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
Reyes and Aguinaldo started the match, with Reyes taking a shot on goal that was parried by Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana in the first half, and Aguinaldo also a big part of the ASEAN All-Stars defense against the English club.
Though only an exhibition match, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim was disappointed with the result.
“We should have performed better,” said Amorim as quoted by New Straits Times. “We were slow, and we still don't have it in us to win every exercise, every game.”
Manchester United is coming off a disappointing 15th-place finish in the 2024-25 Barclay’s Premier League season, and 1-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League title match.
