THE Philippines has jumped to 54th in the Fifa Women’s Rankings, the biggest rise among all the teams in the world in the latest rankings released by the international federation.
Big jump
The Philippines moved up 10 places in the rankings released on March 25 after the Malditas’ dream run in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup where they finished in the top four and clinched a spot in the Fifa Women’s World Cup 2023 to be held in Australia and New Zealand.
The PWNT gained 53.26 points from the competition, joining Dominican Republic, which went from four places higher to 109, and China, which gained three spots higher to 16 after winning the Asian Cup.
