THE Philippines stepped closer to making it to the AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup, beating another higher-ranked team in world No. 38 Turkmenistan, 2-0, on Wednesday in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Katrina Guillou and Dionesa Tolentin scored the goals for world No. 59 Philippines to take over the top position in Group C over idle Australia with seven points (2-1-0 win-draw-loss).

With Turkmenistan goalkeeper Malika Eminova out of position, Tolentin took advantage and scored on screamer for a two-goal advantage.
The Philippines started the competition with a 4-1 win over Kuwait, and drew with host Uzbekistan, 3-3.
