THEY may be focused on the Asean Football Federation Suzuki Cup that kicks off this Saturday in Vietnam, but the Azkals are also cheering for a fellow athlete who is also set to fly the Philippine flag this weekend.
The Philippine men’s football team offered its support to Manny Pacquiao, who is going to defend his World Boxing Organization welterweight belt against Chris Algieri on Sunday in Macau, through a video posted by Phil Younghusband on his Instagram account on Thursday.

“Manny, from the Philippine Azkals, good luck to your fight,” the star striker said in the short video while he and the rest of the Filipino footballers shadowboxed.
The Azkals open their ambitious quest for no less than the title on Saturday when they face Laos at the My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi.
Hopefully both Philippine bets emerge victorious this weekend.
