THE Philippine Azkals claimed their first win in the 2022 AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup, overwhelming Brunei Darussalam, 5-1, on Friday night at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
The Azkals got early scores from Kenshiro Daniels in the seventh and Sandro Reyes, who knocked in his first seniors international goal in the 13th, on their way to atoning for their 3-2 defeat to Cambodia on Tuesday.

Janjan Melliza made it 3-0 in the 50th, and Sebastian Rasmussen scored a brace in the 52nd and 88th minute for the Azkals, whose sizeable goal difference in the match enabled them to jump to provisionary second place in Group A.
Brunei averte a shutout after a goal by Razimie Ramlii in the 70th.
The Azkals next face group leader Thailand in an away match on Monday at the Thammasat Stadium in Pathum Thani.
