Stallion starts UFL title-retention bid against Green Archers

DEFENDING champion Stallion and Pachanga-Diliman banner hostilities on opening day of the United Football League on Saturday at the Emperador Stadium in Mckinley Hill.

The overhauled Stallions kick off their title-retention bid as they take on an intact Green Archers United squad at 8:30 p.m. after UFL Cup runner-up Pachanga tests the mettle of promoted side Socceroo at 6:15 p.m.

Two Division 2 matches are also set with Ceres-La Salle and Manila Jeepney making their debuts against Philippine Navy and Manila All-Japan, respectively.

Ceres, the Bacolod-based side that captured back-to-back national club championship crowns, collides with Navy at 4 o’clock after Jeepney faces All-Japan at 1:45 p.m.

Fans get a treat on Tuesday with a battle between perennial contenders Loyola Meralco and Global FC at 7:30 p.m. after Pachanga takes the field for the second time in four days as it squares off against Kaya FC.

Games will be played Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays and the tournament will run for six months until June 8.
