BIENVENIDO Marañon has signed with the United City Football Club, becoming the third high-profile player to stay with the new ownership of the former Ceres-Negros FC.
The Spanish striker, who distinguished himself as one of the ,most prolific scorers in Southeast Asia in five years of playing professionally in the Philippines, joined Stephan Schrock and OJ Porteria as the cornerstones of the new club.

Marañon was the leading goal scorer of the Philippines Football League over the past two seasons. He also became the all-time top scorer of the AFC Cup after hitting his 35th goal in the competition against Bali United last March.
A Senate bill has already been filed by Sen. Miguel Zubiri last March seeking to naturalize Marañon for his contributions to Philippine football.
