THE Philippines Football League is looking to start its 2021 season on August 21 pending approval from the Inter-Agency Task Force and the Games and Amusements Board.

The PFL met with representatives of the six clubs on Tuesday to discuss the safety protocols that will be implemented under its plan to stage a closed-circuit setup or home-venue-home protocol.

The Philippine Football Federation National Training Center is once again being eyed as the venue for the matches. Last year, it hosted the bubble competition won by United City FC.

The football venue in Carmona underwent improvements in preparation for the 2021 season, according to the league.

The Binan Football Stadium, the site of the women’s football tournament of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, is also being considered.
