HOW does one get over the heartbreak of another disappointing campaign in the PBA?
For Arwind Santos, one of the stars of powerhouse Petron which tumbled out at the semifinal stage in the PLDT myDSL-Philippine Cup following a 1-4 loss to Rain or Shine last week, watching football is one way.
The reigning league MVP on Tuesday night watched the United Football League (UFL) with his wife, Ivette, and friends at the Emperador Stadium to support brothers Phil and James Younghusband of Loyola Meralco, and Pachanga’s Nate Burkey, who is godfather to one of Santos’ children.
Four days after the Elasto Painters eliminated the Boosters from the playoffs, the 32-year-old Santos said he has moved on.
“Pag tapos na, hindi mo na kailangan balikan yun eh, kasi wala namang mangyayari kahit isipin mo magdamag 'yan eh,” the athletic forward said in a chat with Spin.ph after the Sparks’ 2-1 victory over Pachanga.
“Follow the flow lang ako tsaka enjoy the vacation with the family.”
In the middle of a nine-day break, Santos saw his “kumpare” Burkey score the opening goal for Pachanga, before the Younghusbands’ Sparks rallied to hack out the victory.
“Iba `yung football sa basketball, pero exciting rin,” Santos said.
Santos is also excited to return to training on Monday when he starts wearing again the San Miguel Beer jersey as he hopes the team lives up to expectations this time.
