GIVEN a chance to equalize in stoppage time, Hossein Doustdarsefidmazgi made a penalty, but his shot was called off due to encroachment from his teammates.
The Iranian striker retook the shot and converted it, but was again waived off for the same violation. On the third try, no violation was called but his shot hit the crossbar.
That said it all for hapless Pasargad, whose woes in the United Football continued on Tuesday night when it lost to Pachanga, 0-1, at the Emperador Stadium in Taguig.
The result thus kept the cellar-dwelling side in relegation zone, suffering an eighth loss in nine games, while awarding Pachanga its third straight win that solidified its hold of fifth spot.
"Swerte na rin kami," said Pachanga coach Noel Marcaida, whose team improved its point total to 23 points, ahead of Green Archers United on goal difference.
Transfer window acquisition Sim Hong Bo fired the lone goal that mattered for Pachanga 18 minutes into the game when the Korean midfielder struck from close range.
Pachanga appeared poised for the uneventful win, before giving Pasargad a window of opportunity in the 90th minute when Jayson Cutamora committed a foul inside the box that gifted their opponents with the penalty they just failed to convert.
“Parang ayaw talaga kami pa-iskorin,” new Pasargad coach Mike Agbayani said.
