PACHANGA-PLDT Home Fibr halted Green Archers United’s streak in the United Football League, holding the resurgent squad to a scoreless draw on Tuesday night at the Emperador Stadium in Taguig.
The former Dvision 2 champion denied several attempts from Robert Mendy and Tating Pasilan to halt the Chieffy Caligdong-less Archers' winning run at four games, leaving its victims in fifth place with 20 points.
Pachanga also failed to find the quality in the attacking third as the club could not convert its own attempts courtesy of Nate Burkey and Ariel Zerrudo.
Still, the result was good enough for Pachanga to climb one spot to sixth as the squad improved its point total to 14 points, now ahead of Philippine Army on goal difference.
“Sayang lang hindi pinasok si Jinggoy (Valmayor). We could’ve scored a goal,” said Pachanga midfielder Anto Gonzales, who acts as a second coach on the field for the Noel Marcaida-mentored squad.
Valmayor, the national 23-Under striker who led the UAAP in scoring last season, didn’t get off the bench despite conjuring a handful of attempts against Army last time.
