PACHANGA Diliman pounced on Manila Jeepney’s early errors to roll to a 4-1 victory and barge into the win column of the United Football League on Saturday night at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Lee Jeong Woo fired a brace, including one from a free kick off an unnecessary foul by Jeepney in first-half stoppage time, while Jinggoy Valmayor also struck an early goal, setting the tone for the rout.
The result enabled Pachanga to notch its first win in six matches for four points, while keeping Jeepney winless against one draw and five losses to remain with one point and in eighth spot in the 10-team Division 1 standings.
Valmayor opened the scoring a minute before first-half stoppage time when the University of the Philippines star flashed individual brilliance to find the back of the net.
Lee quickly doubled the lead three minutes later when the Korean striker converted a free kick awarded after Pachanga skipper Hamed Hajimehdi drew a foul.
Lee completed his scoring effort in the 57th minute, before compatriot Jun Hyuk Jung put the outcome beyond the doubt with his goal in the 71st minute.
Far Eastern University standout Eric Giganto pulled an inconsequential goal back for Jeepney six minutes before second-half injury time.
