KENSHIRO Daniels scored the lone goal as Kaya FC-Iloilo captured its second Copa Paulino Alcantara, beating Azkals Development Team, 1-0, on Friday night at the Philippine Football Federation National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.
Daniels knocked in the goal in the 47th minute, which proved enough for Kaya to repeat as Copa winner. Daniels somehow got a foot on a high ball by Simone Rota despite the defense of Mar Diano to break the scoring drought.
Kaya FC-Iloilo, which also won the first Copa in 2018, finished the pocket tournament unbeaten, winning over ADT, 1-0, and Mendiola FC, 6-0, before defeating Dynamic Herb Cebu FC, 1-0, in the semifinals.
Golden Ball
Jovin Bedic received the Golden Ball while Louie Casas was awarded the Golden Glove for Kaya FC. Jarvey Gayoso of the ADT captured the Golden Boot but missed the final due to a hamstring injury.
Stallion Laguna FC captured third place after beating Dynamic Herb Cebu FC in the penalty shootout, 5-4
Griffin McDaniel knocked in the game-winning penalty kick after Stallion goalkeeper Kenneth John James made the stop on the fourth attempt of Cebu FC by Roberto Corsame.
Gabriel Silva, Abraham Placito, Sungmin Kim, and Jo Warren Bedia also scored in the shootout.
