KAYA FC tries to keep whatever is left of its title hopes in the United Football League alive as it locks horns with Pachanga in a rare Sunday night match at the Emperador Stadium in Taguig.
With 37 points in 18 games, the third-running side faces a streaking Pachanga side at 8:30 p.m., hoping to overtake Loyola Meralco and inch closer to league-leading Global FC.
Global has 44 points in 18 games, but could end up with three more points at the end of Saturday after its match against Green Archers United. Both squads were about to see action as of posting time.
“Kaya is perhaps the only team the can feasibly catch us,” Global coach Leigh Manson said after his team frustrated the Sparks, 2-1, in a match that greatly tilted the championship odds to Global’s favor.
Kaya, however, hurt its chances when it settled for a scoreless draw against Stallion last Thursday.
Now, the David Perkovic-mentored squad, bannered by a handful of Azkals, takes on a Pachanga side that is on a four-game winning streak and is welcoming the return of its own national team standout in Nate Burkey.
The Stallions, running fourth, face seventh-running Philippine Army earlier at 6:15 p.m.
