KAYA FC-Iloilo formalized its conquest of the 2022-23 Philippines Football League after closing the season with a 3-1 win over Stallion Laguna FC at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Kaya collected its 18th win of the season to finish with 55 points, bagging its first-ever PFL season title. Kaya also had one draw and lost thrice in the season.

Kaya already clinched the crown last week following a scoreless draw between Dynamic Herb Cebu FC and Stallion FC, but still wanted a win to close the season.
Tamon Horikoshi opened scoring in the 35th minute, only for Stallion to equalize in the 48th on a goal by Abraham Placito off a corner.
Jhan Melliza broke the deadlock in the 65th, with Jarvey Gayoso making sure that the win is sealed with a goal in the 85th.
Daizo Horikoshi was the Golden Ball awardee with 15 goals in the season, while Zach Banzon was adjudged as the Best Goalkeeper.
Prior to its PFL participation in 2017, Kaya FC won titles in the defunct United Football League.
“I’m so happy with the championship,” said Kaya coach Yu Hoshide. “I really appreciated the support from everyone, the fans, supporters we hope they enjoyed this title celebrations like we did.”
