JP Voltes keeps in step with pacesetting Global FC; Stallion FC barges into win column of UFL

May 16, 2016

JP Voltes pummeled Forza, 7-1, to get back on track and sustain its surprising start, while Stallion FC registered in the win column in the United Football League at the Rizal Memorial Stadium on Sunday night.

The Japanese-loaded side, which finished second in Division 2 last year, kept in step with the leaders of the combined tiers early in the tournament, jumping to second spot with nine points, three behind pacesetting Global FC.

J Baguioro and Takumi Uesato registered a hat-trick each as Voltes waltzed to its third victory in four matches and bounce back from a 4-0 loss to Global last Thursday.

Forza, on the other hand, remained third to the last in 10th spot with a solitary point from two matches.

The Stallions, for their part, held off Kaya FC, 1-0, behind an early goal from Balot Doctora for their first three points of the competition.

The Stallions pounced on a weary Kaya side that was coming off a trip from Maldives where they held New Radiant to a scoreless draw in the Asian Football Confederation Cup last Tuesday.
