THE Azkals Development Team picked up its first win in the Philippines Football League by Qatar Airways with a 2-0 win over Mendiola FC on Tuesday at the Philippine Football Federation National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.
Jarvey Gayoso finally scored his much-awaited first goal in the PFL in the 73rd minute and it was followed eight minutes later by Matthew Custodio as the ADT finally captured three points in the shortened bubble season.
Gayoso headed home a pass by Major Dean Ebarle to open scoring in the match. The second goal came after Custodio rebounded a save off a Gayoso free kick from just outside the box.

“I’m just proud to be able to help the team get the first win,” said the former Ateneo striker. “We still have to look at our mistakes. We can’t be satisfied with this game. We have to be willing and wanting to do more for our next game.”
Added ADT coach Scott Cooper: “We know he would do everything he could to try and score a goal."
Mendiola dropped to its second defeat after a 6-0 lopsided result against United City FC over the weekend.
