GLOBAL FC sustained its sizzling start even as Ceres-La Salle and Kaya FC kept in step with the United Football League leader after a tripleheader on Saturday night at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Global blanked Forza, 2-0, to remain unbeaten after seven matches and keep a firm grip on the top spot, while the Busmen tamed Stallion FC, 4-1, and Kaya shut out Pasargad, 6-0, to stay second and third, respectively, in the 12-club standings.
Filipino-Iranian striker Omid Nazari scored both goals for Global, finding the back of the net once in each half for the former league champions, who hiked their point total to 21 points, three ahead of Ceres.
The Busmen banked on a hat-trick from Stephan Schrock and another goal from Patrick Reichelt as they won for the sixth time in seven matches for 18 points.
