GLOBAL FC and Ceres-La Salle stamped their class with massive victories to keep a firm grip on the top two spots in the United Football League on Thursday night.
Pacesetting Global dominated Nomads, 12-0, to remain undefeated with 30 points in 10 matches, before the Busmen stomped on Green Archers United, 7-1, to lurk behind with 27 points in the same number of outings.
Misagh Bahadoran sustained his sizzling form, making the Rizal Memorial Stadium his own playground by scoring an impressive five goals to lead the club’s most lopsided victory this season.
Hikaru Minegishi and Dennis Villanueva added two goals apiece, while Serbian striker Ivan Petrovic and Ivorian counterpart Arthru Kouassi also found the back of the net for Global, which dealt Nomads its eighth loss in 10 matches to get stuck at six points.
The Busmen stayed unbeaten under new Serbian coach Risto Vidakovic as they banked on a brace each from Adrian Gallardo, Jeffrey Christiaens and Lee Jeong Woo, while drawing one goal from Nate Burkey.
The result left the Archers stuck in the middle of the pack with 13 points.
