Four nights of football every week as UFL agrees to new terms with Sports 5

The four UFL games will now be shown on four separate nights every week on television.

SPORTS fans get a healthy dose of football on primetime as the United Football League television schedule is set to be stretched to four nights a week starting next month.

From just two days (Tuesday and Thursday), the UFL will also be shown on Wednesdays and Fridays after the top semi-professional league in the country recently agreed to terms with broadcaster Sports 5.

Aksyon TV will still air four games a week, but will now be spread over four days. The 7:30 p.m. matches on Tuesdays and Thursday will still be broadcast live.

The 5:15 p.m. matches on the same days will now be shown on a delayed basis on Wednesdays and Fridays, respectively, at 8 p.m. in a development that will have all matches seen on primetime.

“We want the UFL to become a nighttime habit for our fans, so showing televised games four nights a week during primetime will certainly help grow our fan base,” UFL president Randy Roxas said.

Division 1 action resumes from the Asian Football Confederation Challenge Cup break on June 3 when Stallion FC, bannered by Azkals Balot Doctora and Simone Rota, takes on Socceroo.
