KAYA Makati pounced on a ten-man Davao Aguilas side to come out with a 5-1 result in the Philippines Football League on Sunday at the Davao Del Norte Stadium in Tagum City.
With the scoreline tied at one apiece, Aguilas skipper Jason Cordova got sent off in the 55th minute after a rash challenge on Kenshiro Daniels to receive a straight red from the referee.
This came six minutes after Nikola Grubjesic neutralized Joven Bedic's goal in the 20th minute with a strong effort of his own.
The victory allowed Kaya to move back up to fourth place with 17 points while Davao remained winless in sixth place with four points.
The departure of a key part of Davao's defense was quickly felt when Alfred Osei scored on a header from the set piece in the 58th minute.
Bedic then got his brace off a Daniels cross in the 76th minute before hometown boy Eric Giganto scored in front of his family and friends in the 87th minute.
Daniels wrapped things up with a spectacular free kick from 35 yards out, sending his ball into the top-left corner of the post just before the final whistle.
