DYNAMIC Herb Cebu FC has been granted a provisional club license to compete in the 2021 Philippines Football League (PFL).
The PFL announced the formal inclusion of the Cebu club on Tuesday.
Before getting the provisional club license, Dynamic Herb Cebu FC started forming its team, signing 23 players including five foreigners over the past few weeks.
Cebu FC joins reigning champion United City FC, Kaya FC, Azkals Development Team, Mendiola FC, Maharlika Manila FC, and Stallion Laguna FC.
Oliver ‘Bingbing’ Colina has been appointed as head coach, while former national player Alex Ballesteros and Ref Cuaresma were tapped as assistant coach and goalkeeping coach respectively.
Apol Bariñan has also been hired as one of the members of the coaching staff but will join the team after her duties as assistant coach of the Philippine women’s squad. Hannah Wong is the team manager.
The club will be fielding mostly homegrown players for the season.
Former Kaya FC goalkeeper Nathanael Ace Villanueva and former Stallion players Daniel Gadia and Nicolas Ferrer are some of the players signed by Cebu FC.
