THE Philippine Football Federation (PFF) has been recognized anew for its grassroots development in the country during the Asian Football Confederation Awards Night in Abu Dhabi.
The PFF on Thursday took home the AFC President’s Award for Grassroots Football (developing country) for the second time in three years or since 2014 when the Philippines hosted the awards ceremony.
PFF president Nonong Araneta accepted the award, highlighting the federation’s grassroots development project “Kasibulan” that holds training sessions and festivals throughout the year.
“The recognition should motivate us to do more,” Araneta said.
“The award is meaningful as it shows that we are on the right track in the developing the youth. As a developing football nation, we consider the grassroots as the lifeblood and future of Philippine football.”
