NATIONAL University finally got the elusive victory in the UAAP football tournament, dropping Adamson, 2-1, on Sunday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
First half goals from team skipper Patrick Valenzuela and Elmer Sampaga proved to be enough for the struggling Bulldogs as they ended a three-game skid.
It took just seven minutes for Valenzuela to score the opener after three games of being held scoreless as he converted Sampaga's cross.
Sampaga then turned from provider to goal scorer in the 40th minute to give the Bulldogs some breathing space.
A Khristian Melliza penalty just three minutes after the interval gave the Falcons a glimmer of hope but the Bulldogs held for the victory.
The Bulldogs improved to sixth place with four points as Adamson dropped to seventh with three.
