CERES Negros FC edged Shan United, 3-2, in its first match of the 2019 AFC Cup at the Pana-ad Stadium in Bacolod City.
OJ Porteria scored two goals in the match as Ceres started off its AFC Cup campaign on a high note.
Porteria opened scoring in 19th minute before making it a 3-1 match with a goal in the 87th minute to beat the Myanmar-based club.
Bienvenido Marañon also scored a goal for the Negrense booters in the 37th minute.
Zin Min Tun (50th) and Dway Ko Ko Chit (88th) were the goal scorers for Shan United.
Ceres will face Becamex Binh Duong of Vietnam in matchday two on March 12 at the Binh Duong Stadium in Thu Dau Mot City.
