JPV Marikina scored two goals in the second half as it pulled the rug from under Ceres Negros, 2-1 in the Philippines Football League on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

Takumi Uesato and J Baguioro starred for JPV as they took their third straight win in the tournament.

Uesato made a good run in the 56th minute and was taken down by Kota Kawase in the box,  prompting the referee to call a penalty.

Uesato scored from the spot, beating Roland Muller by making the keeper go the other way.

Baguioro, a substitute in the 69th minute, made his presence felt quickly as he scored 19 minutes in to double the Marikina lead.

Bienve Maranon gave the Negrense side some glimmer of hope with a goal in the 87th minute but that proved to be their last stand as JPV held on to the victory.

JPV moved to second place by raising their total to 12 points.

Ceres on the other hand remained at fifth with four points in three matches.
