Six-goal La Salle Lady Archers keep in step with Ateneo after romp against UST booters

THERE was no shortage of goals in the UAAP Women's football tournament as La Salle blasted University of Santo Tomas, 6-2, on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

The dangerous trio of Sara Castaneda, Khyren Dimaansal and Nicole Andaya provided all the goals for La Salle with each player completing a brace.

The victory allowed La Salle to level with top seed Ateneo with six points apiece. UST remained in third place with three points.

Castaneda opened the scoring for La Salle after scoring from the penalty spot in the 13th minute, opening the floodgates for what turned into an eight-goal affair.

Dimaandal and Andaya followed suit in the 30th and 34th minute as the Lady Archers entered the interval with a 3-0 lead.

Charisa Lemoran, who also finished with a brace, managed to pull one back for the Tigresses in the 52nd minute but Andaya and Castaneda had a quick response as they scored two goals in a span of three minutes to put the game away.
