Mashu Yoshioka nets hat trick as Ateneo routs Adamson to take share of fourth in UAAP football

ATENEO clobbered Adamson, 7-0, to gain a share of fourth place in the UAAP Season 78 men’s football tournament on Sunday at McKinley Hill Stadium.

Mashu Yoshioka scored a hat trick, while Michael Castillo, skipper Mikko Mabanag and rookie Jarvey Gayoso were also on target as the Blue Eagles notched their second straight win in the second round.

Yoshioka hiked his season total to six goals.

Ateneo improved to 15 points, level with National University and University of the Philippines.

University of Sto. Tomas still leads with 17 points, two clear of joint second placers Far Eastern University and La Salle.

The Falcons, who yielded a combined 14 goals in the last two matches, remained at three points in seventh place.
