CERES Negros booked a ticket to the AFC Cup ASEAN Zone semifinals anew after surviving Yangon United, 6-5, on aggregate following a 2-3 result in the second leg in Myanmar.

It was a heated affair in the away leg for the Philippine side as both teams were left with 10 men each after the final 90 minutes.

Manny Ott’s goal in the ninth minute quickly negated Kosuke Yamazaki's early goal before Bienve Maranon put the visitors ahead with a 78th minute goal.

But that goal led to Maranon's exit after being sent off for taunting the Burmese crowd in his celebration.

Yangon then desperately tried to claw back and almost made it as Aee Soe tied the match in the 83rd minute, before a Sekou Sylla penalty off a Carli de Murga handball four minutes later gave the hosts some glimmer of hope.

But the Philippine side somehow managed to hold on in the end to make it to the finals of the ASEAN Zone for the second straight year.

They will once again be facing Singapore's Home United in the finals, a team they eliminated in the same phase last year.
