ATENEO looks to create separation from the rest of the pack early as it takes on National University in the UAAP Men's football tournament on Thursday at the Moro Lorenzo Field in Quezon City.

Game time is at 2 p.m. with the Blue Eagles targeting three more points to tighten their grip on the early lead in the tournament.

Jarvey Gayoso hopes to keep his fine form for the Blue Eagles after completing a brace in their 4-0 drubbing of the Adamson Falcons over the weekend.

Gayoso, who scored 11 goals last season, will be be backstopped by Inigo Herrera and Samuel Lim, two players who also found the back of the net in their victory over the Falcons.

The Bulldogs, on the other hand, had to rely on late goals by Patrick Valenzuela and Lawrence Colina to salvage a point in their 2-2 draw against the University of the East Red Warriors.

Playing sans Paolo Salenga, the Bulldogs are looking at more options to supplant the loss of their star booter.

Meanwhile, defending champion University of the Philippines look to shed off their goal-less start as it tangles with University of the East at 4 p.m.

Like the Red Warriors, the Maroons had to settle for a point after their goal-less draw with the La Salle Green Archers.

Table: Ateneo 3, FEU 3, NU 1, UE 1, UP 1, DLSU 1, UST 0, Adu 0
