Rookie Ejike Ugwoke scores as Adamson stuns La Salle to move out of UAAP football cellar

ADAMSON pulled off the first major upset in the UAAP football tournament, beating La Salle, 1-0, on Sunday at the FEU-FERN pitch in Diliman.

It was a huge breakthrough for the Falcons after suffering back to back 4-0 defeats at the hands of Ateneo and Far Eastern University.

Rookie Ejike Ugwoke scored on a header for the Falcons in the 58th minute.

The Green Booters still managed to control the match after but were never rewarded and suffered their second straight loss following a 1-0 defeat to Ateneo.

The Falcons moved past bottom teams UE and National University, joining University of Sto. Tomas in fifth spot with three points.

La Salle has four points.
